Copenhagen Airport Welcomes 14.5 Million People in H1

During the first half (H1) of this year, a record-breaking 14.5 million people travelled through Copenhagen Airport, up 3.1 percent from the same period in 2017, with the long-haul routes in particular experiencing growth.

The number of local departing passengers was up 3.8 percent, while transfer and transit passengers were down 0.4 percent.

The 3.1 percent increase in total passenger numbers contributed to the 0.5 percent increase in revenue, while profit before tax, excluding one-off items, was DKK710.7 million (EUR95.29 million), down 6.2 percent on the same period in 2017. This was because of the reduction in charges from April 01, higher depreciation charges and higher staff costs.

The airport also both completed and embarked on several major building projects and will invest approximately DKK2 billion (EUR0.27 billion) in expansion and improvements.
